Akron Zips declines to participate in Post-Season play

The Akron Zips (21-14) and Head Coach Keith Dambrot have announced via gozips.com Saturday that the Zips will decline to continue the 2014-2015 season in post-season tournament play.

Akron's Head Coach Keith Dambrot released the following statement via gozips.com:

"After evaluating our current position, I feel it is in the best interest of our players and our program not to play in the postseason this year."

"We have several players nursing injuries and have missed a lot of class time over the past few weeks. We would like to thank the postseason tournament committees for their interest in having us continue our season."

The Zips season ended in Cleveland, Ohio at the MAC Tournament, as Akron lost to the Buffalo Bulls in the semifinal round to the final score of 68-59.
