MAC Tournament Day 2 Recap
CLEVELAND, OHIO — Round 3 has come and gone, as another noteworthy day of the MAC tournament has come and gone.
The Buffalo Bulls defeated the Western Michigan Broncos in the opening matchup of Round 3 for the women’s bracket to the final score of 63-60.
The Buffalo Bulls advance to face #1 Ohio Bobcats tomorrow in the Semifinal round of the tournament.
Kristen Sharkey led all Bulls scorers with 19 pts, while Stephanie Reid scored 16 pts in the contest.
Western Michigan was led in scoring by Miracle Woods, with 27 points. Woods was the only player who scored in double digits for the Broncos.
Halftime ended in Buffalo’s favor with a 28-27 lead over Western Michigan. The Bulls would score 35 to the Broncos 33 in the second half to win the contest, 63-60.
In the men’s bracket, the Toledo Rockets halted any flight from the Eastern Michigan Eagles to the final score of 78-67.
Toledo advances to the semifinal round to face off with the #1 Seed Central Michigan Chippewas in the semifinal round.
Nathan Boothe led the Rockets in scoring with 20 pts, while Julius Brown contributed with 17.
Eastern Michigan was led by Raven Lee who delivered 16 points in the contest, while Mike Talley and Karrington Ward scored 12 points each.
Toledo led by 9 at halftime to the score of 38-29 Rockets, while in the second half the Eagles just could not contain Toledo as the Rockets 40 points in the second half would send the game in their favor, 78-67.
