Akron Zips in a tough position for their post-season hopes

The Akron Zips Mens Basketball program's post-season hopes have been taking turn after turn in recent days.

The Zips have lost five of their last six match-ups, and while the Mid American Conference East is seeing its strangest season in years, Akron is certainly not doing themselves any favors.

The program also received bad news that breakout freshman point guard Noah Robotham suffered a torn ACL, and will require season ending surgery.

Akron holds a 9-8 conference record and are currently ranked 4th in the MAC East, with only one game left against rival Kent State. Its possible that Akron could have to play a campus site game to earn a ticket to the tournament.

The odds are certainly stacking against the Zips. however, their hopes to avoid an early ending to their season could rest upon their next game against the Kent State Golden Flashes.

The Flashes hold a 11-6 conference record and are currently 3rd in the MAC East. The Zips travel to Kent to face the Flashes this Friday, March 6th at 7:00 p.m.
